March 2010 - Posts

During the long beta cycle for ASP.NET MVC 2 and Visual Studio 2010, developers were faced with upgrading projects. Over the last few months, there have been numerous blog posts--some from official Microsoft sources, others not--with instructions about how to manually upgrade projects. Someone even came up with a nifty tool for upgrading projects that seemed to work pretty well.

Today I found out that Microsoft will include this functionality in the final release of Visual Studio 2010. Only the RTM version--Release to Manufacturing--not the release candidate. So if you're running the release candidate, don't bother looking for it.

Good move, Microsoft! Of course, since they added it post-beta, we'll see how well it works....
